30,000+ materials ready to be used with Substance applications (Substance Painter, Substance Alchemist, Substance Designer) or directly inside your favorite applications.

Irvine, CA, October 21, 2020 -  swatchbook inc today announced the support for Substance and the Substance file format for anyone sourcing or uploading digital materials to the swatchbook platform. The support is a result of tight cooperation between Substance and swatchbook tech teams.

“The support of the Substance file format is another significant step for us to ensure that swatchbook fits into any digital workflow and environment”, says Yazan Malkosh, CEO of swatchbook. “Considering the wide adoption of Substance applications, and the support of the Substance file format by so many applications, it was important for us to be able to allow any subscriber to swatchbook to be able to download their favorite materials as native Substance files.”

How it works

swatchbook’s flexible and open architecture always allowed for the upload and management of native Substance files either as their own entity or part of a material hosted on the platform. In the new update, subscribers will now be able to download any material in Substance format.

This includes not only materials a user uploaded themselves, but most importantly will allow the subscriber to download any of the over 30,000 materials in the marketplace in the Substance file format. The download can either performed per material, or through a collection using the swatchbook’s smart sync application.

The resulting Substance files can be used with Substance applications (Substance Painter, Substance Alchemist, Substance Designer) or directly inside Adobe Dimension and any application integrating Substance (for more information, visit https://www.substance3d.com/ecosystem-plug-ins/).

Availability

Substance support for swatchbook will be made available free of charge to all swatchbook subscribers as part of the next scheduled system update within the next few months.
